Menopause Stages

Stage 1

Perimenopause (typically begins around age 44):

this stage can be lonely and confusing as changes begin to happen. Keep a menopause symptom diary. Talk with family and friends.

Carry out research and be well prepared for what could happen. Discuss with your doctor. We are all different and may or may not experience one or all of the symptoms of Perimenopause but knowledge is power, so start your research.

Stage 2

Menopause (typically happens around age 51):

occurs at the end of the final menstrual period. It is only known with certainty in retrospect, one year after the event.

Stage 3

Post-menopause:

the time from the end of your final menstrual period. Menopause related symptoms can continue for around 5 years. To stay healthy in this phase of life, it’s important to understand and adopt healthy lifestyle habits. Your own research and regular checks with your doctor will help you thrive through this phase.
